I may be wrong…but.
I personally think sports is part of the reason why we are in this mess.
I watched 90% of Republican men (I knew) spend every waking moment outside of work and their beds with their caps on backwards sitting around endless hours watching grown men chase dead animal skins.
If they would have spent 1/3 of that time devoted to family and political action in the 80s-90s-2000s we wouldn’t be on edge of socialism today. IMO.
Now we see the very cream of sports, men like Labron James supporting communist China and others attacking fans and committing crimes daily. Young Conservative girls grow up thinking the ideal man to breed with is a low brown who can jump high, run fast and hit on head hard.

I think it's unrealistic to assume that if they weren't watching football, they'd be volunteering for the phone banks at RNC headquarters or some such.
I do regret that I spent most of my adult life wasting perfect autumn weekends drinking beer and watching football. I gave up watching weekend football six or seven years ago. Since then, I have great memories of hiking in the woods on weekends, visiting farm stands with my wife and going to Octoberfests or Renaissance Fairs with my sons.
If I could do life over again, I would never have watched a single football game on TV. There are so many more alternatives for spending your autumn weekends. But I doubt I would be more politically active than I already am. Also, I never wore my ballcap backwards!
If those are the thoughts you espouse around others while letting it be known that you are a conservative, then I’d say you are 1,000 times more the problem than sports. You sound like a bitter bore.

This past weekend my son and I spent six hours in the woods, killed two deer, gutted them, took them to my garage, hung them, skinned and butchered them and put the cleaned meat away the next day.
I was in the Army and my son spent 25 years in the Navy and retired as a Captain, both voted for Trump and the fact that we put our caps on backwards {to use the scope} makes us the problem.
