Ask anyone who’s had one.
An MRI machine is a rather noisy, unpleasant contraption.
It's not bad if you are not claustrophobic and they give you earplugs.
If they look at the white plane view through the hippocampus area they can tell whether you have Alzheimer's or not, and if you do, what stage you are at.
They don't need to do autopsies anymore to positively ID Alzheimer's. -Tom
I am a very "fidgety" person and keeping still is the hardest part. I had a shoulder MRI stopped and restarted because I was moving too much. Also, I'm not claustrophobic, but it is a really small space. I was 175 lbs and BMI about 18, and I can't imagine what it must be like for someone a lot larger.
And I had mri with contrast in 2012 after a stroke, other then the noise. Not a big deal

I suppose that there are differences between people. I’ve had MRIs every six months for 5 years and did not consider them to be ‘unpleasant.’ I usually doze off during the MRIs.
