My wife, a university lecturer, joined the ranks of the unemployed today due to her refusal to verify, on a daily basis, her students' COVID papers. (Her university is now requiring all instructors to physically examine their students' COVID passes on a daily basis.)

After much e-mail correspondence with the dept. head, she ended up resigning, citing her moral principles.

The dept. head immediately sent out a circular e-mail to all faculty members and students, informing them that Mrs. Busek's classes were being cancelled due to a lack of a sufficient number of pupils.

I’m very sorry to hear that - as a young person who was a college student not too long ago, you and your wife have my utmost respect. If ‘academics’ had five percent of the integrity and constitutional wisdom that your wife maintains, our education system would be a beacon of pride in this country.
