I appreciate your sentiments, truly, but we're a country where a significant percentage of the people appear to be deathly afraid of what is, for the most part nowadays, a case of the sniffles. We're a long, long way from "brave" at this point.

Until more people understand we're also supposed to be "the home of the brave" things won't change. "The Brave" obviously includes those pledged to fight our enemies "foreign and domestic." I never thought I'd see the military sit idly by while the United States was menaced by invaders from without, and Marxists from within.
