The video chat didn’t happen this afternoon. Dmitry blamed it on his internet connection — he hit his data limit or something.
Nothing, but if I want to get up to date with Kats I'mma run through my pile before I switch to new protocol.
L-Serine never goes out of style.

Hey everyone! I tried searching for anything on this subject throughout the group chat but it's a lot to sift through.... Just taking niacin without anything else can cause glucose levels to rise, correct? My dad just went to the doctor to get his levels checked and all of a sudden his glucose levels are high and the only thing he has really changed is that he started taking niacin but without R-ALA, melatonin, or anything else that we have tried in here. He is being dramatic and says he is quitting niacin for good *eye roll*. Can someone give me and explanation of this so I can help him understand? Thanks in advance!

Hi Dana, I believe the answer lies in the reply I got from people after asking how long I should wait to eat after taking Niacin:
"Actually it’s a good question. Since we take the serine and niacin 1/2 hour after a big meal, it’s good to avoid carbs especially and probably most food until your next meal at least seven hours later.
The niacin, among many other good things that it does, primes your body to store carbohydrates as fat - you basically become temporally, insulin resistant. This kicks in about two hours after the niacin and last for about six hours after that so it’s good to space the meals out and avoid snacking between meals while on niacin.
Finally, if you are going to eat a carb snack, do it within two hours of taking the niacin as in this period you are temporally in a good carbohydrate - insulin sensitive mode."
'This exactly. The 3 to 6 hour period ketones become temporarily elevated as you switch to temporary fat metabolism. If you're eating during that window it will cause elevated blood sugar, your body isnt primed for carb metabolism."
So, my takeaway from that would be to do it after your last meal of the day but while it's still daylight, as DK is now suggesting.
Based on Dmitry’s work and my results, several friends in my essential oils community have decided to start niacin. The first one, a 70ish female, started about 10 days ago. After seven days, she noticed something surprising.
To describe it, I had to learn some new terminology. The joint between the hand and a finger is called the metacarpophalangeal joint. Let’s call it the M-joint.
For years she had an arthritic (or rheumatoid?) swelling on the M-joint of the index finger on her right hand, making it about twice its normal size. She’s a busy computer and smartphone user, and she would frequently take a day off from technology because of pain in this joint.
After seven days of niacin + R-ALA, the joint was pain-free and reduced practically to normal size. She’s a convert.
Today she took L-serine for the first time and was happy all morning. A double convert.
Her ex-husband, a bonafide rock star who’s been playing guitar for 60 years and now has arthritic hands, is next in line. If niacin succeeds with him, I expect it to spread through the boomer rock community.
As you probably already know, Dmitry has added another element into the mix, L-Methionine. This is supposed to be used early on in the protocol for people who are suffering symptoms of the virus or vaxx, but only temporarily.
I went through the thread the other day. The focus seems to be on vax injury. I ain’t worried about that. In fact we switched back to mellie and niacin since we finally ran out of sericin.
True, the methionine is only for those who have virus or vax symptoms, but Dmitry seems to think that lipoic acid is the bomb, for everybody.
People are saying that L-Methionine may be even smellier than butyrate — and that’s saying something. I’ll let you know.
At least it’s really cheap — about the cheapest of all of Dmitry’s recommendations.
Yesterday I took the ASEA plunge. I need to find out what it’s about. I delayed for a couple of reasons. A big one is the price. For anyone over 50 (I’m 67), they recommend taking 8 oz/day — and it’s about a dollar per ounce. Ouch! The second reason for delay was the fact that ASEA is a network marketing company. This is completely ironic because I’m a member of Young Living, which is an iconic network marketer of essential oils. But there it is. I’ve finally passed that hurdle. My ASEA will arrive in a few days. I’ll start up a log for it so I can track what I take and what it does. Y’all will be the first to hear.
At this point, already enjoying blissful acupuncture and L-Serine serenity, I don’t know how much improvement is still possible — but I have to keep trying.
Thanks for the update.
My brother has an update, too, even better than his 20-year bald spot growing back in. He saw his ophthalmologist today and she told him his retina looks as good as new — this after losing 25% of the visual field in one eye, also due to radiation therapy 20 years ago.
Ping to the newest protocol.
I’ve completely given up trying to follow Dmitry or these ever-changing protocols, and don’t even know what all that recent stuff is. I’ve also fallen off the niacin wagon, and feel little incentive to get back on it, due to my disenchantment over its failure to mitigate my latest and worst-ever bout with allergies and sinus problems even in the slightest while I was still megadosing it. I tried taking some the other day, and of course flushed big-time, and there was nothing worse than having my whole body itching for 90 minutes while I was simultaneously busy hacking up mucus. Nuts.
Well you certainly gave it the old college try.
Yeah, I know, right? I consumed damn near a whole kilo of the stuff since September... LOL
I've done more than that and it's been a great inflammation free ride.

Niacin surprises (shared by Dmitry based on user reports): the niacin protocol has relieved multiple sclerosis (MS) and Lyme disease in a matter of days.
New addition today: biotin. Dmitry has been pulling back on B vitamins, mostly because almost all B complexes have nasty niacinamide in them. He now thinks biotin and some other Bs need to be included.
