Waow! That sounds kinda spendy.
Well, that was fun! I haven't had the niacin yet, but I took 12 grams of serine and then started breakfast. During breakfast -- pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, thanks to Mrs. AZLiberty -- I broke out in uncontrollable happiness and laughter.
I've never heard anyone advertise side-effects like this on TV.
Each capsule is 2 g, so it was “only” 6 capsules. 180 capsules cost $19.95, so it’s about $0.11/capsule, or $0.66 for my morning hit. Well worth it!
Dmitry recommends a minimum of 12 g as a starting dose of L-serine for older folks (I qualify), and possibly ramping down as time goes on. The maximum recommended dose is 25 g.
Still chuckling ... Is this stuff legal?
The instructions on the L-serine bottle say to avoid operating heavy equipment after use. I understand why.
Another way to get your niacin: https://www.cloud9boston.com/programs
(just appeared on Seriacin Telegram).
Boy, did I mess up. I should have known that those capsules couldn’t hold 2 g each. The bottle said that a single serving was 2 g, but if I had had my reading glasses on I would have noticed that a single serving was 4 capsules. I took 6 capsules so, instead of 12 g, I actually only took 3 g.
Number One, you were right about the cost. 12 g would be 24 capsules, or more than $2.50 a dose. Still worth it!
Now I’m a little worried about jumping up to 12 g. If 3 g made me happy to the point of laughing uncontrollably, what is a 12 g dose going to do? We shall see.
I think the uncontrollable laughter is all in your head, AZ! ;-)
I’m just looking for relief from my winter seasonal allergies (for lack of a better term) that are here with a vengeance with the change of weather. So much mucus, and all in *my* head, quite literally, unfortunately... none of the supplements I take do jack for that, and a few herbs help some, but only temporarily. Messing with my sleep bigly! Grrrr....
Could be. But it wasn't there before I took the L-Serine.
It seems to have had the opposite effect on Dr. Kats, however. Last night he was turning the Telegram air blue with audio after audio talking about how he was God's gift to humanity (which he is) and no one was donating.
He's got a thing or two to learn about marketing.
I haven’t had a chance to replicate the experiment, yet. This morning I had to drive up to Tempe for a dental appointment, so I decided to heed the “heavy equipment” warning on the L-Serine bottle.
Tomorrow is another day.
A "Josie Holmes" on the Telegram thread says that 12 g of L-Serine helped both her sinus problem and her sleep problem.
Purple towel from manganese. Gross.
Interesting. NAC seems to push out a lot of mucus.
I’m still waiting for Clif High’s Pure Sleep to get back in stock.
Inreresting. I’ve been taking NAC daily for a long time, since I first heard of it on the anti-coof protocols. I ordinarily have no sleep problems whatsoever, but lately I wake up suddenly 5 or 6 times a night now, feeling like I’m either drowning or suffocating. Where does all this mucus come from, I keep wondering, and is there an end in sight? It does happen with my “allergy seasons” (or whatever), and seems particularly aggravated by temperature swings, but this year it’s an absolute beast. And I can’t take OTC meds for it - antihistamines absolutely destroy me.
That purple towel was very striking. For the Cloud9 folks, niacin is a way of expelling bad stuff from your cells, especially from fat cells. After a niacin dose they make sure the body gets rid of the bad stuff, either through sweating or through the GI tract with charcoal assist. They don't want the bad stuff just floating around in your blood or, worst case, migrating to your brain.
I'm already doing hot yoga, though not after every dose! I need to buy some charcoal tablets.
L-Serine replication experiment failed. I still felt pretty good after today’s 3 g dose, but no spontaneous laughter. Maybe it’s like any other addiction — you have to keep taking more and more.
My brother tried 4g (he’s bigger than me). No laughter, but he did say it alleviated a funk he’s been in for the last week or so.
His Chinese wife takes the niacin without a flush moderator — she LIKES the flush. Apparently Chinese women pay to have their cheeks “scraped” because a rosy glow is considered a signal of health. Niacin makes all her cheeks rosy.
I sometimes miss the flush (like when it’s freezing cold in here!) but I don’t flush anymore. Even after taking several days off, all I got was a brief bit of a tingle and warm feeling.
I still get a little flush when I drop 1g niacin and 1g NAC first thing in the morning before coffee. I like it.
L-serine doesn’t taste half bad. It’s a little sweet actually.
500 mg niacin
7.5 mg melatonin
1.3 g L-serine
Flushing like a mofo. I haven’t had a flush to my chest and hands in a while. Whew! Love it.
