Mmmmm hmmmmm.... with or without Miss Kate? ;-)
Seriously, your euphoric description reminds me of the sensations from lying on an acupressure mat and pillow after an afternoon of hard physical work and a shower. Best $20 you can spend!
OMG you don’t know what a Honey Crisp apple is? It is the crispiest and sweetest apple there is
-—————————+
Oh, I see. I only like organic Granny Smiths. Any others are just ‘meh’. I tend to like fruit tart and tangy over sweet, anyway.
As I sit here, I am enjoying a mellow, not very tingly warm glow from my latest dose sans pistachios. Powders only. 350M and 800N. Much nicer feeling than last night!
Instead of dropping the niacin all in one fell swoop, I gradually sipped it over time in about 3 glasses of water. I don’t know if that made a difference, but I decided to try it that way.
I use the Tucson Acupuncture Coop. Before COVID they had at least 4 different acupuncturists, but now they're running with just one, so at least that part of the experiment will be the same for now.
When I think of all the things that made up my day today, before acupuncture, I have to wonder what were the critical factors. For example, I started the day with three essential oil blends: Gratitude, Abundance, and Joy. Then I had some pistachios (some Costco, some Target), then (thanks to the lovely Mrs. AZLiberty) scrambled eggs with Costco Power Greens, Penzey's Sunny Paris seasoning, and Kadoya Hot Sesame Oil (the only commercial hot oil worth using), then some more pistachios. Then I washed floors with an essential oil-based non-toxic cleaner. Then a few more pistachios before downing 600 mg of Pure Bulk niacin in 24 oz of water and rushing off to my acupuncture appointment a half hour away.
Although I have had acupuncture many times before, it wasn't for for plantar fasciitis, so I had never had a treatment on the palm side of the hand -- which was significantly more sensitive to the needle than either the back of the hand or between the fingers.
Now that I think of it, I have approached that blissful feeling with a 90-minute deep tissue massage, but with massage there's never 20 minutes at the end of the treatment to just lie back and enjoy the feeling, so I don't know if the 20-minute effect could be replicated. Even with my acupuncture today, the 20 minutes was artificially limited because I had scheduled a hair cut at another location soon afterward. (I won't make that mistake again.)
Then there's my diet. I haven't been completely avoiding alcohol, but I definitely space it at least three hours away from niacin. I do think that my appetite and need for chocolate have been reduced by the pistachios and niacin, even accounting for the extra calories from the pistachios. So calorie reduction may be part of the effect.
My next opportunity for acupuncture is Sunday. I'll replicate as much as I can and see what happens. Anything for science!
Quote from my brother: "My right eye is working better than it has in weeks. Nothing like blood flow for blood starved body parts."
He thinks that the niacin opened up retinal capillaries that, due to old radiation inflammation and the J&J jab, got clogged with cholesterol. A month after the J&J jab, his eye specialist could actually see white lumps in the capillaries. The niacin allowed some of the cholesterol to pass on through, improving circulation and vision.
His neurologist doesn't think he should combine niacin with the blood thinner he's on, so he's doing them in different parts of the day.
Wow! That is wonderful.
Praise God!
We’ve tried a “sipping” approach to the niacin intake with good results.
I stole this post and put it on Telegram NIATONIN channel. They are discussing cherries.
Glory be!
Effect of tart cherry juice (Prunus cerasus) on melatonin levels and enhanced sleep quality

Influence of Dietary Sources of Melatonin on Sleep Quality: A Review
https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/1750-3841.14952
I’m on the Niatonin channel, but as myself. If I say anything about my recent experiences I’ll dox myself back to FR, so I’ll have to work that out.
I’ll check into the cherries/melatonin conversation. I’m very curious about out how nanograms can have a significant effect. Melatonin is a hormone, I think, so there’s no reason that nanograms can’t be powerful — but why then are milligrams ever necessary?
Concentration was the point in the conversation. They were talking juice.
Detection and quantification of the antioxidant melatonin in Montmorency and Balaton tart cherries (Prunus cerasus)
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11600041/
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11600041/
That’s the article where I learned that Montmorency cherries have 13.5 ng of melatonin per gram of fresh fruit flesh. A single cherry, maybe 3 grams, has about 50 ng. It would take one million cherries to hold 50 mg of melatonin, which is in the range of what people are taking for Niatonin. One million cherries is 3 million grams or 3 thousand kilograms or 1.5 tons of cherries.
There has to be something else in cherries, either another chemical that has a similar effect, or something that activates the melatonin to be as powerful a hormone as it is.
Fruits are about 90% water, so removing the solids results in at most a 10% increase in concentration -- assuming that all the melatonin is in the liquid.
It's possible to concentrate the juice, of course, by simply removing water, but I'd be surprised if anyone concentrates juice for drinking by more than a factor of five.
We're talking about about differences in the many thousands between the quantity in cherries and the quantity in even a 3 mg melatonin pill. I just don't get it.
Back to my melatonin log, I did my first 1000 mg dose of niacin about an hour ago, after consuming about 75 pistachios this morning. I had a mild flush — and then a huge rush of energy and happiness.
Here's the thing about this protocol that's gelled with me and want to make clear. #NIATONIN creates the environment for which the body can do what it does best - heal. Removing inflammation frees up resources and reduces oxidation. That's "root". It's not a treatment.@Niatonin1— WeThePeeple (@WeThePeeple9) October 8, 2021
Good grief, I must live a far more plain and spartan life than you do - I’ve never experienced acupuncture (or really any treatment, whether holistic or allopathic), and sure don’t even know what any of those products or brand names are that you mentioned! Other than scrambled eggs... and pistachios. LOL
Are raw pistachios crunchy or soft? Is their flavor similar to roasted? I’ve never tried them. Am curious about trying some unsalted ones, and not sure which I’d like best.
No clue on the raw ones. Roasted are a better buy because you aren’t paying for water. They might be like raw cashews that are a bit toothy. I’m going to make some milk when I get a big batch in tomorrow.
To streamline your niacin intake you'll need a pitcher and some kitchen scales. You can also do this with volumetric measurements, but it won't be quite as precise.
When you want to dose it's easy to measure. If you want 1500mg niacin, you weight out 150g of your niacin solution. That also translates to 150mL if you are doing a volumetric measurement.
