Here’s an interesting thought experiment. What if, rather than having slavery, various enterprises in the Americas of the late 18th and early 19th centuries had advertised for workers (doing what slaves did) with incentives to move voluntarily from Africa (or Europe or east Asia) and live under fairly similar conditions to the slaves although without the social restrictions and as full citizens of the countries they were going to ... after the usual period of time for emigrants to become full citizens (which I think used to be quite long unlike nowadays, it might have been over ten years).
Well in Canada where slavery only existed legally for the period that it existed legally in the British Empire and in a de facto sense never existed because nobody sought slave labor, that was essentially the basis of most emigration in the 19th century and it attracted almost no Africans at all, the only black Africans who ever came to Canada came through the “underground railroad” escape from slavery route during the Civil War era. Several thousand of them settled in towns near Chatham Ontario which is a bit to the east of Detroit-Windsor.
My point being, would there be a very large African-American component to the current population? Possibly about half, because if that offer to emigrate (rather than an enforced captivity) had been widely publicized in what were then mostly British and French colonies in west Africa (also some Portuguese) then it might have found some takers and perhaps today’s black population would be about half what it turned out to be through slavery. The other half of the required labor force might have been made up of other types of immigrants, but also native white Americans from cities seeking employment after running out of better options.
So presumably this smaller African-American segment would also be less antagonistic towards white people, perhaps they would have assimilated more readily, perhaps there would have been less stigma about inter-marriage in the 19th century (as existed long after slavery was abolished, I am reminded that it was quite common practice to refer to black Americans as negroes through the inter-war period and up to about the 1950s, and references were often starkly unflattering — because of some research I was doing in the weather field, I was studying the aftermath of the 1900 Galveston hurricane disaster, and one news story shortly afterwards spoke of looting by “negroes and ghouls” and “even (sic) some white men who had descended to that level of depravity.” (some grave-robbing was going on apparently)
I think that race relations probably genuinely improved from about 1918 to 1975, then stalled out and when blacks began to realize the curve had flattened and they weren’t just going to achieve the same standard of living generally speaking as whites, the resentment potential increased slowly and has been fanned by opportunist race baiters for a number of years. There is only one reason for this, and it is not genetic but social. The black community tolerates certain practices that, if tolerated widely among whites or Asians, would have the same impacts there. When or if this ever becomes realized, it will lead to a new period of improving inter-racial relations.
White America has bent over backwards to be accommodating, you hear nothing but a steady drumbeat of accommodationist talk that sometimes goes way beyond what is either logical or feasible. There could already be equal numbers of black this or that (prestigious jobs in society) and there are no other barriers to it than self-imposed ones.
Barack Obama rather easily became president. He had a golden opportunity to show that this was a great thing and frankly, he blew that opportunity, and I think everybody knows that. But if we keep coughing up hairballs like Joe Biden, the standard is going to fall so low that Obama’s dropping of the baton will fade out of view for many.
Ever notice how people who call for others to die based on a criteria they share.....never do??
Can’t get rid of us. We will come back in spirit as Latinos, Native Americans and Blacks. They say it’s Whiteness they hate but it is truly American spirit and culture. It transcends race or color and embodies itself as individual excellence. They cannot defeat it. They are surrounded.
Clowns like this will be the first ones hanged by the People’s Tribunals their beliefs will bring into being.
Not only as a handicap, but as a disability eligible for SSI or SSD and placard.
