BACKLASH: CNN Mercilessly Mocked for Biased Story Protecting Biden from Rising Gas Prices
NewsBusters ^ | 7/13/2021 | Joseph Vazquez

CNN’s knee-jerk reaction to spiking gas prices was to protect President Joe Biden, and Twitter users jumped all over the outlet for it.

CNN Business published a ridiculous story headlined, “Gas prices are above $3. Biden doesn’t have a magic wand to fix that.” CNN Business Lead Writer Matt Egan patronized readers by saying, “President Joe Biden is being attacked for $3 gasoline. But the truth is the White House isn’t to blame for high gas prices – and has few options to lower them.” The CNN Business tweet of Egan’s pro-Biden propaganda was heavily ratioed.

Did Egan forget that GasBuddy Head of Petroleum Analysis Patrick De Haan recently argued in April that Biden’s energy plan was contributing to rising gas prices? Also, Egan’s employer previously published a story in April headlined, “All that stimulus is sending inflation higher.” CNN said in the April story that the “biggest driver” behind the spike in the U.S. Producer Price Index — “which measures sale prices for goods and services” — was “a sharp 8.8% jump in gasoline prices.”

Because I'm a "butterfingers," I smashed all of my mother's valuable china - so I told her, "I don't have a 'magic wand' to fix all that, so get over it!"

You know, there are 4 attributions that should never be used, only because the source is so vile, so odious that there is no merit in giving notice.

Twitter, CNN, MSNBC and The View.

I know there are others, but those are the top, (bottom?), on my list. This article cites 2 of the 4, a daily double.

I remember when they blamed Bush Jr for a spike in gas prices as though Bush was personally responsible for the hurricane that damaged refineries in Louisiana.

Just like Karl Rove’s magic weather machine. If nothing, the left is predictable.

>>Trump had a magic wand.

So does CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin: he used it to make his career disappear.

CNN reports the opposite of what happened. If it is on CNN, it is fake news to support the Democrat Party.

Oh, come on. How damn stupid do you CNN/Dems think we are. Joe started raising distillate fuel prices on his first day when he killed the Keystone Pipeline project. Things got worse when he started closing down offshore drilling rights. Sorry, CNN, but this rest squarely on Joe’s shoulders.

Trump had oil prices so low, at one point it reached less than $0 a barrel wholesale.

Yes, technically there were futures contracts for West Texas Crude that traded below zero. They owner of the oil literally PAID someone to take the oil from them. There was a London based trading company that had storage space in Texas that had enough room to take the oil. No one else had available storage tank space to accept the oil. So, that company was paid to accept the oil shipments for that front month contract.

BEST TRADE EVER

The red states need to take control and complete the pipelines, take over control of federal lands and nullify every single EO and law that comes out of DC.

All federal lands are managed under a trust. They do NOT OWN those lands, they are managed by the feds under a trust. Take over the trusts and let the states manage them. Better the counties BWTH. Something is better than nothing.

Yup.

Worked for a short while with a guy that works in the industry and he told me that. Said that they cant simply shut down some pump jacks because a lot of wells are under pressure and if they shut them down they loose that well head pressure.
