As fast as it is, StarLink will never be a substitute for Fiber/DSL. For enormous swaths of the planet, though, it's the only practical alternative.

Plus, when Elon lands on Mars I'll feel like I'm going along for the ride.

As regards HughesNet, I'm waiting a bit before cancelling service. It did allow my daughter to telecommute via Zoom to college classes. HughesNet has been bulletproof since installed a year ago. A comparison: HughesNet ping = 700ms, Starlink ping ~ 60ms or less.
