Vaccines are a complex issue which people want to simplify to a “good” or “bad” answer.
(Human side) Based on the individual: age, sex, race, pre-existing health conditions, sexual behaviors, occupation, in some cases BMI, travels and values.
(Vaccine side) Based on: cost, effectiveness, risk for adverse reaction, how long immunity lasts, how quick the disease progresses and vaccine works (in some cases you can administer after exposure: example small pox)
Everyone needs to make the decision for themselves because the one shoe fits all answer as government wants to apply (with the argument of herd immunity that is only selectively applied BTW), does not work well.
I was in an occupation years ago where I would travel to a lot of real “shit hole” places. So I received vaccines against Anthrax (5 shots at the time), small pox, the plague, and I got gamma globulin (not a vaccine but boosts your immune system). Would that make sense to have these injected into me today? No. Pardon the cliché, “it’s situational dependent.”

Other vaccines have more side effects: https://www.cdc.gov/smallpox/vaccine-basics/vaccination-effects.html But even then that does not mean that no one should take this. You might be in a position where you get exposed to it if you travel a lot or are in the DoD since this is a weaponized disease.
You need to weigh the + and - and make a choice. But to say all vaccines are crap is just as foolish as those that claim all vaccines today make sense (a lot of it today is just money making and makes no sense - example is when Gov. Rick Perry got caught in Texas pushing the HPV vaccine which was an obvious favor to someone that donated to his campaign graciously).
The lying media will certainly tell us that the delta variant is worse than Ebola and The Black Death and will soon kill us all unless we all wear those worthless masks and hide in our homes. St Fauci will again prophecy doom and gloom and that double or even triple masks are the sovereign remedy. Befuddled Joe Biden will wear masks to virtual meetings. Same crap we have seen before.

Then they pulled this Delta variant stunt and I saw four of these terrified Dems yesterday wearing masks outside again.

I read some of it... It’s a bit much to ask to read it all, but I get the point.
IMHO, this entire issue is best described by the cliché “a mixed bag of nuts.”
Some diseases are more contagious, not lifestyle/behavioral based, really frigging dangerous and the vaccine is highly effective, isn’t that bad i.e. the side effects are few and generally rare. In such a case, as the example with polio which I gave, the vaccine makes sense and did make a huge impact.
However, today we are coming up with ever more vaccines for diseases that are behavioral, where the disease itself isn’t really that bad even if you were to get it, where the vaccine has serious side effects or is often ineffective (seasonal flu vaccines for example - often a waste of time)...
Both sides do have a point! It depends on which vaccine we’re talking about, and it depends on the individual (the risks they are exposed to). The all or nothing answer is wrong in both cases. When they push for HPV vaccines, or even the seasonal flu vaccine, it’s laughable...
Of course politics and money have gotten involved in skewed all of this. No doubt, Covid itself was politically exploited to the maximum by the Democrats in opposition trying to show Trump isn’t doing enough, made a mistake, or is cold hearted and doesn’t care... Their angles are all predictable. Of course big pharma today is behind much of this and profiting (I think Pfizer alone is on track for $36,000,000,000 in profits). Then you have the media which gets their high viewership by telling stories by fear mongering, and the institutions like John Hopkins that see themselves a chance to get into the spotlight once again. When all the forces in politics, the media, and private sector business (pharma and a few others in this case) converge as they did with Covid, you end up with a run away freight train.
The handwriting of what was to come was obvious a few years ago. Remember West Nile, Zika, swine and bird flu? These issues got media attention and it was only a matter of time, the right moment (say an election year), where one of these issues would get blown up like Covid did.
To give you an argument in your favor, many of the benefits we attribute to vaccines are actually the result of modern engineering. Many of the diseases that have been eradicated or reduced are because of: pest control, sewers, water treatment, refrigeration, and sanitation standards. Legionnaires, cholera, plague, rabies...
But especially historically, some vaccines did make a difference. Of course these vaccines have side effects or risks. That is why one needs to weigh off the cost and benefit for oneself. It is an individual decision because it is your body and your values and supposedly your money (but in this case big business has figured out a way how to tap into tax money - which is still your money, but they don’t need to ask you for permission to take it).
Of course those profiting from this want to force everyone to play along in their game and to make this into a collective decision. They will use “herd immunity” as their argument for mandatory vaccinations, which of course they also selectively apply because herd immunity is also reached without a vaccine and we were pretty much already there when we started vaccinating for Covid. If they can’t get there by outright mandating that you get vaccinated, they will create carrots and sticks punishing those that do not play along with travel restrictions, the need for special religious exemptions for a kid to go to school, loss of time , extra costs... That is where we are heading, unfortunately.
Of course the delta variant is mostly hype and of little or no consequence if you have been vaccinated or had COVID and now are immune. However, the pandemic porn media will portray this as worse than Ebola and the BlackDeath combined and will urge the sheeple toco tinge wearing their magic masks and practice the sacred social distancing according to the prophecies of St. Fauci.
