Well, I think that's a good way to take it, if you can't fully agree with it. I don't think that at this point it's going to be rescinded - (people here have asserted that making it a national holiday was actually one of President Trump's own desires) - and it probably pleases a great many people.

I just don't see it as 'separation'. As I've said before, the holidays commemorate very different things, each of which has special meanings for different people.

While we're all being forced to be so concentrated on the notion of 'race', the fact is that individuality and diversity of THOUGHT represent the only TRUE 'diversity' in human social life.

Brandon Tatum, former police officer, recently expressed his thoughts on Juneteenth. I may not agree with every little point, but this is a man whom I greatly respect, and I fully agree with him on many points that he makes in this video:
