Seems to me that there is a difference between the beneficiary refusing the donation, and “someone in the beneficiary’s family” claiming she won’t accept them. I’m pretty skeptical that the lady would actually turn down over $80k.

I believe she comes from a fairly well off family and was raised in Westchester. It’s not just AOC who should be ashamed, her parents are pretty scummy too if they left Grandma to live in squalor after the hurricane. Who does that?
Granny should take the money and donate it to the Jan 6 Legal Defense Fund.

I think the total story is a pure “fabrication” total 100% bullcrap. She got caught in a lie, pure and simple.

She wasn’t expecting the right to raise money to fix her Grandma’s house and she can’t because that isn’t her Grandma’s house. By accepting that money, AOC and her family would have participated in a fraud.
