The FIB has lied since it’s inception under the atrocious J Edgar Hoover.
“Wonder what J. Edgar Hoover would have done with such an agent?”
J Edgar would, without doubt, give the agent a promotion. The truth was always a secondary consideration to Hoover.
I’m not sure. I think there was a time they were not like they are now.
