“This rise in passenger ire is fueled by mask mandates and airline staff being insistent on them.”
People are upset because of the irrational logic by the airlines. You have to stand 6 feet apart to check in, then on the plane everyone is packed in.
Will be flying SW again in about a
week, Manch NH-Pitt. Did same last yr
despite pandemic and there was no problem.
Often it’s two fairly short flights (one
to BWI then switch planes) and I can handle wearing mask for short duration etc
Soon here in MA there will be a relaxation
of mask requirements but things like
visits to doctor or hospital, public
transit etc will still require them.
Amusing last year to be going to rental car agency at Pitt. airport after landing.
Saw Mennonite family—straw hats, simple
clothing etc. Not Amish..and yes they
drive cars as the father was heading to
rent a vehicle himself...
Meme online, same thing. You can still be
squeezed together on the plane. Well maybe
they’re families and can be trusted to
sit together and not be super spreaders.
“You can sit with an empty seat in
the middle” (last year when I flew)—but many sat
next to each other.
Look at sports now—some stadia whether
outside for baseball or inside for hockey
have been only allowing about 15 to 20
per cent capacity.Huge areas of empty
seats but bunches of people sitting
right next to each other.
MA will allow full capacity at ballparks
and arenas as of this Sat.
