My cousin was a drug cop down South. About 10 years ago he and his squad were busting a big-time heroin dealer in a parking lot. The dealer jumped into his car and started it and started backing out of the space. He was instructed to get out of the car but instead tried to back out through the cops. They yelled at him to stop. He stopped so no one shot at him but then he suddenly accelerated in reverse, ran over and killed my cousin’s partner. My cousin took him out and shortly afterwards retired. The problem today is that no one understands basic civics. The public hires the police to protect them and enforce the laws; and, the public’s duty is to respect the law/police and obey the police. Everyone of the recent hyped police shootings/killings reported was due to a member of the public breaking the law and disobeying the officers. Obey the law—no problem.
