Not as nuanced as you think and its not just my experience. After 35 years in medicine do you truly think i do not have colleagues all over the country I talk with regularly? We have also been we sending out staff to sister areas around the country that are in need. Covid peaks in different places in different times but the experience is pretty universal. How broad is your experience? Or are you reading it on the internet?

I'm not a docrot nor do I play one on TV. But I can read...AND comprehend (usually). I've read more statistical studies, NEJM and Lancet articles and almost every other jot and tittle on these subject over the past year worth reading than I ever planned to do. Here's what this non-expert found:

1. It is NOT UNCOMMON for people to die with comorbidities. Many times especially with heart disease there are several contributing factors. So the fact that COVID19 accompanied other factors on the death certificate of 94% of such fatalities isn't a global conspiracy. It's called normal recordkeepong protocol.

2. The "case" count likely suffers from non-homogeneity in the tests AND accuracy, especially over time. But that does not negate that there is SOMETHING new and lurking about. And for what it's worth, everyone I know who got a positive test result actually HAD all the usual symptoms.

3. Some people get a bad case of influenza and some don't. Why should this bug differ? The fact that some people get mild COVID19 and people who get it don't die 98.2% of the time doesn't mean it is riskless.

Is there a LOT of political wrestling on this whole saga? Yep. Was this used for political gain/remove Trump? I think so. Was this all faked? NFW.

I work with ECMO COVID patients. They are not the normal COVID cases. I had minimally symptomatic COVID evidenced by Positive IgG with Negative IgM. I have seen the worst. I believe it is NOT faked, but certainly overplayed and badly mismanaged.
