Khadaffi and his deep state goons thought they controlled the military during Libya’s civil war in 2011.
About 75% of Libya’s military deserted and joined the provincial militias to protect their families. Then they attacked and wiped out Khadaffi’s army, his southern mercenaries and his elite pretorian guard.
What remained of Khaddaffi’s army was made up of cadets (boots) and elitist officers. His officers were hunted down, executed and buried in mass graves.
