really? they can just return the package?! Govvies!!
I now mail my relatives’ birthday cards three weeks in advance, ha! And a friend’s card I mailed in January has yet to get to her (lives 8 hours away...I should have driven it there).
But I hope the post office continues and doesn’t close its doors. I still pay a couple of bills by mail (my choice), and I like to send cards to folks.
About 15 years ago the Germans, facing similar problems with their post office, sold it to DHL express. Makes money now and you can find a branch anywhere.
My mail is coming in as late as 8pm, but only whrn a certain carrier is on duty. Other mail deliverers get to my box in the afternoon like it’s supposed to be. A few even deliver before noon. When this particular carrier is on duty, he delivers the wrong mail and I sometimes find important mail on my porch floor. I think this particular carrier has some weird issues. Why? Because after he delivered mail, Id find my tiny American flag.. on the floor. And then the pole was broken. So I hung it upside down from a hanging flower planter and its remained untouched...even during high winds.
