people didnt come to different conclusions, libs said guilty, conservatives said innocent, and those who had a drudge against Trump for something else, went along with the libs.
There’s a difference between cancel culture and principles.
‘Senator John Thune, who serves as the Senate GOP whip and is a deputy of Mitch McConnell, decried punishing Republicans who voted to impeach Donald Trump as a form of “cancel culture.”’
The McComical team of DC Swamp Republicans continue to expose themselves to the voters.
Hey Mitch, you about to be canceled, just wait for it.
Cancel this idiot!
Sounds like Thune should be Censured Also!
Golly Gee, we sure know how to elect imbeciles.
Their words make it very clear that McConnell and Thume, like so very many politicians, think they are entitled to their positions of trust and authority and that the voters who entrusted them have no “standing” to complain when they’re stabbed in the back ... that the voters should just keep their damn mouths shut!
Mitch is talking like a true Leftist, expanding the meaning of a term until eventually it just means what all other terms of opprobrium mean i.e. You’re evil because you disagree with the Left. And yes, those Senators need to have their Senatorial careers canceled.
Have a little sympathy, folks. He’s an old time Republican. He can’t imagine anyone in politics:
1. Having principles.
2. Standing on those principles.
This SOB must be cleansed from the Senate.
House impeachment managers, apparently unaware of charges they used doctored evidence.
Pure BS they saw all of the evidence before the trial even started a lot of lawyer speak going on when busted with fake evidence.
It just kills McConnell that he doesn’t actually run the party. Seeing Biden sworn in was a terrible thing to behold, but watching McConnell gripe because he’s not calling the shots is at least some sort of consolation prize I can enjoy.
I am hoping to see the Trumps start up their own social media platform with their own servers, etc. To be in a place where they don’t need the approval of anyone else in order to share information would be an enormous help to the patriots in this country.
Thune (R-SD), in an interview with the Associated Press, defended colleagues such as Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Ben Sasse (R-NE) who have been censured by county Republican parties for joining Democrats and voting to convict the former president.
“There was a strong case made,” he said referencing the presentation made by House impeachment managers, apparently unaware of charges they used doctored evidence.
“People could come to different conclusions,” added Thune. “If we’re going to criticize the media and the left for cancel culture, we can’t be doing that ourselves.”
Who is “we” you refer to Thune? The “we” that know the election was 100% stolen and the “we” that know you are a traitor? You and your RINO are the ones who won’t stand up to cancel culture....or the truth for that matter!
Senator Whines About Censure
Though he wasn’t one of the seven Republican senators who voted to convict former President Trump at his unconstitutional impeachment trial last week, Sen. John Thune (S. Dak) called the censure of some of those who did “one of the worst examples of ‘cancel culture’ I have ever seen.”
None of the censured senators was banned by Twitter or Facebook. None were doxxed. None were banned from appearing on media. All a motion of censure does is express disapproval of the actions of the person censured. It’s conceivable that this disapproval could cost the senators some votes at their next election, but each senator is still free to argue his or her case before the voters. They were not “unpersoned” as many conservative advocates have been in the real incidents of cancel-culture we have seen in recent years.
While he reluctantly acknowledged that these senators have not actually been “canceled.” Thune contended that “such open criticism by members of our own Party is unseemly. Senators are important members of society. It is not really the place of persons of lesser standing to besmirch highly placed members of the government that rules them, especially on the petty grounds that they disagree with these senators. We are serving the country and we deserve respect no matter what we do.”
