Gunmaker Sig Sauer is facing a new lawsuit from a U.S. federal agent who claims his holstered P320 pistol discharged without him pulling the trigger and struck him in his upper right hip.
According to a Thursday press release by Saltz Mongeluzzi & Bendesky P.C., former U.S. Marine and Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) agent Keith Slatowski was preparing to discharge his service pistol at a government firing range on Sept. 21, 2020, without him touching or even pulling the trigger.
The accidental discharge resulted in “substantial injury, maceration of tissue, blood loss, and nerve damage” according to the press release. The lawsuit alleges Slatowski’s injuries are the result of “potentially deadly design defects.”

The lawsuit is particularly noteworthy as the Sig Sauer P320 is a design nearly identical to the M17 and M18 Modular Handgun System adopted by the U.S. Army in 2017.
~~~~~
Slatowski’s lawsuit alleges the P320 has had at least 28 accidental discharge incidents among law enforcement officers, 15 of which have resulted in injuries.
Interestingly, Canik has a striker fired DA/SA.
Nope. Striker fire.
Yea they’re a nice gun, but from a safety perspective they have had problem from day one. How the government let them be a service pistol given the issues let’s you know some palms were greased in that decision making process.
Its not accidental is called a negligent discharge. Modern pistols can't fire themselves.
I’ll take booger hook for $500 Alex.
I hope he doesn’t also drive an Audi 5000.
Most modern auto loaders are not "cocked" until you cycle the trigger. There is a block between the hammer and and the firing pin that only moves out of the way when you cycle the trigger.
That’s buttocks, not the hip.
bunch of crap! I don’t believe a bit of it!
That’s gonna cost them dearly.
>>Remember the FBI instructor shooting himself in front of the class<<
Yep...lol
As far as I know, I’m the only one here qualified {{{Boom}}}
So do we start calling it ‘Sig Leg?’
Sig Leg 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Better poke it with a long stick prior to handling it, as it may pop off a round or two in self defense.
My all time favorite is a Beretta 92. High capacity, anti-jam open slide, field strip easy as hell, accurate.
It’s a full size weapon. 9mm doesn’t have quite the knockdown, but the mag count helps.
That’s a helluva good eye for a man of 102.
What other tricks are they teaching you over in geriatrics?
Didn’t happen.
The triggers awesome. 90deg break. Quick reset. Very nice. But then again, it’s all about how it feels to each shooter.
But, those guys story is ridiculous.
He was on the range qualifying. Drew his pistol and pulled the trigger a bit too early. And now not willing to take responsibility for what he did.
But i this isn’t as bad as the DEA Agent in the classroom.
