No, it is not ok.
Dogs are not cats. They are sentient creatures who bond deeply to their caretakers. This can be extremely traumatic for a pet.
No one who would do such a thing deserves a pet.

Our former President made this crap a federal crime.It's not a crime to leave your pet home tended to by a security guard the pet probably knows well. The dog probably prefers it to going to a kennel.
