Former President Donald Trump has released a statement following his acquittal on an article of impeachment for “incitement of insurrection.”
Trump was found not guilty on Saturday.
“I want to first thank my team of dedicated lawyers and others for their tireless work upholding justice and defending truth,” the statement began. “My deepest thanks as well to all of the United States Senators and Members of Congress who stood proudly for the Constitution we all revere and for the sacred legal principals at the heart of our country.”
The statement continued on to say that “our cherished Constitutional Republic was founded on the impartial rule of law, the indispensable safeguard for our liberties, our rights and our freedoms.”
“It is a sad commentary on our times that one political party in America is given a free pass to denigrate the rule of law, defame law enforcement, cheer mobs, excuse rioters, and transform justice into a tool of political vengeance, and persecute, blacklist, cancel and suppress all people and viewpoints with whom or which they disagree. I always have, and always will, be a champion for the unwavering rule of law, the heroes of law enforcement, and the right of Americans to peacefully and honorably debate the issues of the day without malice and without hate.”

awesome idea. tell me how we go about that, and how fewer lobbyists will make anyone miserable.
Any of you out there still on Twitter and or Facebook need to post his statement. See if they ban it.
TRUMP BROKE THE ALGORITHM OF THE UNIPARTY SCAM
Go watch Mitch McConnell’s comments and get back to me.
Every one needs to see that piece of work
I wonder if a Free Republic “Vetting Forum” could be created here? Someone with better computer skills and political knowledge than me.
Anyway, we have members around the country who can add names for and against in all political races from dog catcher to President. After awhile it could build in strength to get even more members to join Free Republic. Also companies and products to avoid can be added.
Murkowski is from AL. Good place to run a conservative “I” if they intend on a third party.
The rest should be conservative constitutionalists running.
I thought that MOFO Romnut was up also but.. As for that asshole, I would work on Owens to run against him when the time comes.
Warnock? I would work on Hershel Walker to get in and run against him.
As for Kelly..either beg JD Hayworth or get a good Hispanic to run against him.
The only thing the GOP knows how to do is triangulate, when it suits them, and eat their own, when it suits them.
Today they triangulated. Big whoop.
You can’t blame Freepers and the Republican electorate as a whole for being angry at the GOP. These people have done literally nothing to fight back against the left. At least enough of them stood up against this sham impeachment, but as another Freeper mentioned in another thread, had this been a secret vote the Senate would of probably gotten the 67 votes for conviction.
that's why the insider-trading snake voted the way he did...
Agreed!! It was very well said.
Those are seven rino pigs that should never go home. They have probably accepted a future job lobbying for the Chi-coms in D.C. after they lose office. I wonder how much money they were promised for their vote against Trump?
Are you implying a severely treacherous man has a genetic excuse?
Toomey plans to retire in 2022.
Good!!!!
I think the Senate made the right call on grounds that he left office. I do worry Trump will be prosecuted for a lot of what went down. I think this is far from over.
That would be a great trending hashtag. Senator Cassidy, how much were you paid? One for each one.
What not do you want from Mitch. Good grief he voted against conviction.
