My husband (82 next month) and I (78) got our first Pfizer injection 29 Jan. We took his brother and sister-in-law with us, they are 88 and 87.
Other than advanced age, we all have other conditions such as COPD, Afib, heart failure and cancer, that make us high risk if we get the China virus. We all did very well with no complications at all. We go back on the 19th to get the second injection. I hope it goes as well.
The vaccination was offered by the local hospital in our small town. We pre-registered on-line, then were given a time to arrive.
The Air Force and Army sent contingents that did all the organizing and it went like clockwork. We arrived at the civic center, each given a number in order of arrival which was written on the vehicle. Then we were directed where to park and wait in the vehicle until they came for us in a golf cart. While we waited, we were given forms to fill out. We waited about 10 minutes in the car, then golf carted in, where they had wheelchairs ready for those who needed them. There were plenty of military personnel to push the wheelchairs and assist however we needed.
They had several desks where they checked our forms, then we were taken to the injection area where they had about 10 injection tables set up. Injections done, we were seated in spaced out areas of 15 minute increments. After the 15 minutes we were golf carted back to the vehicles. I think the whole process took 30-45 minutes and we were on our way.
They were scheduled to give 4000 vaccinations, and I am sure they made their goal.
You spent 30 minutes with people who had just come down with the virus? Do you think that was a good idea?
3-5? I am past 80, already and aiming for 100 LOL.
Right now either pfizer or moderna vaccines are mostly the ones available.
Publix is a high end grocery chain mostly in southern states.
Always very clean, lots of staff to help you find things, and each checkout has a bagger so things move fast. But higher prices than other grocery stores.
Without exaggeration, with daily treadmill since covid arrived last March, my energy levels are like 30 years ago when I was 50. And balance is improved to the point I could join a ballet class lol.
I will not miss the 2nd dose of vaccine 4 weeks after the first. My well exercised 80 year body will handle it with ease. I am feeling ridiculously energetic with daily treadmill exercise. I walk faster in stores and on the beach than almost all young and old around me.

Just curious....what compelling research did you and your hubby do to convince you (both) to take this experimental shot?
I know that FReepers are known for their digging deep research and studying up of things that most of the rest of the country/world are sound asleep about.

Makes you wonder why hospital systems (who docs are now owned by) are pushing these experimental shots so hard.
Lesseee......get big $$$ for the shots....then, get more big (insurance) money once the after effects begin to kick in, within months to years, out.

They have been making Flu vaccines for decades, and it is still not anywhere near 100% effective. Neither are any other vaccines. So I can bet covid vaccine won’t be 100% either.
I wasn’t the one making the claim that getting this experimental jab “automatically puts you into the covid immunity club’.
Someone else made that claim. I questioned that....especially related to the medical profession. I just have not seen that proof, anywhere.....not from the drug companies pushing these jabs, or even (as I mentioned), by Fraudci, himself.
I completely agree with you, that we must ALL do all we can to build up our immune systems and stay healthy (with exercise, etc. )
A MUCH prefered route, for me/mine, anyway, over this experimental mRNA shot.
You also mentioned....I wonder the first recipient of the very first vaccine was scared as well. Just the thought of injecting serum made from live virus!....
Only, this mRNA doesn’t contain the live virus, like typical vaccines do. It’s not near the same, sadly.
You also mention how healthy you are....so, theoretically, you should be the LAST to volunteer/be offered up, for this jab. You have a 95+++% chance of it being a bad (real) flu, then you will have built up a natural immunity to it.
Meanwhile, safe, inexpensive prophylactics are available to take, or to treat, negating altogether any need for taking a chance with something experimental that has had not good results, so far, with lab animals (only complete series of testing done, so far).

Despite the usual hysteria from the anti vaxx crowd congratulations on weighing things and making the best decision for you and your family. I wish you good health. The second injection is not that bad - felt a little tired and dumpy for about 24 hours. DH had the same. Our daughter who is obviously quite a bit younger had aches and nausea for a day or two but nothing debilitating. Now we don’t have to worry about bringing this home to loved ones every shift we work and I get to see my grandchildren again

Very well said.....” it was in your hands, now it’s in God’s hands”. You have chosen what to inject into your body. The human body as created did very well surviving a virus that has a 99.8 percent survival rate. I just can’t understand people rushing to inject themselves.

I grew a third leg and developed a sinister case of the foaming mouth.
Fortunately, the chip and nanobots in the “vax” or “really not actually (rna) therepy” (Not sure which one i got) told my body how to react to minimize the transistional stage. Its all good now.
I hear i might not have to wear a mask in two years if all goes well.
