Before this article I’ve never heard of the PTR-91 but I like what I read about it. And there’s a California version of it as well. Thanks.
The ones they will not confiscate.
Yeah depends on the purpose. That is why there is more than one tool in the toolbox. For hunting small game or varmints, I think large gauge shotgun with low recoil cartridges is the better way. Even rock salt should kill a small rodent. For home defense the problem with a 12 gauge is that, depending on what your home is made of and how many people are living in it, it can go through drywall. Same with any of the rifles listed. Don’t want to hit sleeping kids or visiting relatives/friends.
Besides, just the sound of racking any shotgun should send most sensible intruders fleeing.
While these threads are always entertaining, it’s probably best right not not to list your inventory of firearms and ammo...
M1 Carbine and M1 rifle are two different weapons.
I would like to have an M1 Carbine that shoots .30-06 cartridges. Later models did shoot the same ammo as M1 Garand and the Springfield 1903A3? Is this correct?
I think an AR15 pistol would be an ideal home defense weapon, especially when fitted with a quality red dot and light. Handy, maneuverable, lightweight, and with plenty of stopping power.
The best one is the one you have or can get ammo for....nothing more useless than a weapon with no ammunition.
Yet another one-and-done blog pimp
BINGO! Anything else is a waste of time!
“For home? 12 guage”
Agree to a point...wouldn’t you want something with a bit more range? I’d prefer to stop ‘em at 300 yards instead of 30 feet, yes?
My father passed away last summer. One of the things he left me was an unused Ruger 10/22 with scope and seven magazines. Two of them are really long. It appears he never fired the gun.
He also left a Mossberg semi-auto shotgun that he definitely never fired. Still in the box.
The guns were a boon, but the most important part, really, was not the five guns, but the 6,000 rounds of ammo. I was having a heck of a time getting the stuff I needed. Not any more.
And the Garand di get some downgrades to 308 ammo. The M1 Carbine has remained a 30 cal ‘a bit more than pistol round’ rifle. I hear the Extar EP9 is a good tool in 9mm. It too takes Glock mags.
How did you like the Mini, if you don’t mind my asking?
or some of us have several of those.
However, AR’s are perfect for apartments and other multi-family units. That way you can drill the neighbor sitting on the throne when defending yourself.
Pump 12 gauge shotgun.
The 03A3 does shoot 30:06 but it is not a semi auto like the thread is talking about.
You forgot “Just kidding!” at the end.
Bummer I didn’t see an M1A on the list.
