Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on Monday called freshman GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA) a “cancer for the Republican Party.”
“Somebody who’s suggested that perhaps no airplane hit the Pentagon on 9/11, that horrifying school shootings were pre-staged, and that the Clintons crashed JFK Jr.’s airplane is not living in reality,” McConnell said in a statement first shared with The Hill. “This has nothing to do with the challenges facing American families or the robust debates on substance that can strengthen our party.”
Marjorie Taylor Greene responded to McConnell.

JFK Jr was VFR (visual flight rules) flying over water in minimal VFR but quite legal. He was not IFR rated. Without much visual clues it is very easy to loose what is the horizon and what is up and down. That is what happened to this man. He was flying in conditions that were legal for him but beyond his ability. He became disoriented and simply lost control and crashed tragically.
I could fly IFR in the past but no longer fly power. I just fly gliders today and instruct. Retirement is good.
I have flown from New Orleans to Corpus Christi at night in perfectly clear weather over the Gulf of Mexico with no visual reference to what is the horizon and no moon. All is dark and though legally VFR flight it should be only done IFR. That is what ATC is for. Most of them are really nice guys. They just want to make it happen well. The ATC guys that are pilots are the best.
Circa the ATC strike back in the seventies do not even ask me about those assholes. Reagan fired them. I oddly had a near miss over DFW. It was about 200 or 300 yards, I could see the passengers in the windows of the Delta 727. This was during the ATC strike. When I landed in Austin the FBO said to call ATC Houston which I did. They were tracking my transponder which is normal.
They asked me if I wanted to file a near miss? I realized this was the damn union trying to make non existent problems real. I asked them what a near miss was at that altitude over DFW. They gave me the distance. I informed it was well beyond that. I lied.
In reality what happened was ATC just screwed up which they do on occasion and then tried to use the screw up for their strike.
I can almost believe that the Clintons had something to do with John John’s demise.
