I have a hard time seeing Pence as a “leader”. He appears to be cut out of the Mitt Romney mold. Not as far left as Romney, but that kind of leadership personality.
That is a very good description.
Pence is solid, but not exciting. People quickly forget his strong, methodical debate performances. Knows his stuff, stays calm and lands some solid jabs. Frankly, his debate this time turned the corner after a couple bad weeks. Trump followed his lead and used a similar style in the second debate very successfully.
He’s not exciting enough to win a primary or general though.

He isn’t. If there are those who consider Trump a crass and perhaps poor spokesperson for conservatism wait until Mike Pemnce takes the stand. He’ll get his butt kicked having to argue with just some random journalist.
