One thing that could be said for Standard Oil's John D. Rockefeller. Although he was a monopolist, he never openly gloated nor mocked the competitors that he suppressed or destroyed. The same cannot be said of the twenty-first century blatant monopolist, Jack Dorsey of Twitter. Not content to act in tandem with other social media monopolists in order to attempt to destroy his competitor, Parler, he rubbed salt in the wound he helped create by gloating about it with a mocking tweet.
Because Twitter permanently banned President Trump along with its general crackdown on free speech, many Twitter users have begun switching to Parler which for awhile made it the number one free app download.

Glad I don’t have any money in 401K’s. I retired 17 years ago from NY State, and the paperwork I got when I retired in 2003 told me that those funds would be depleted in 15 years. So as far as I know, I have no money in the NY State Retirement Fund any more. I’m still getting a check each month, but of course somebody else’s donations are likely paying for my continued existence. I just happened to live longer than most NY State retirees. NY State is very happy if you die while still working for them. I had previous State service (33 years total), but when I took the job in Corrections, I vowed I wasn’t going to die working for NY State, because that would have been a plus for them. Sadly, there were plenty other people, most younger than me, who never lived to draw on their pension.
