Parler CEO John Matze has responded to Amazon kicking the platform off their hosting services, calling it a “coordinated attack.” On Saturday, Amazon kicked Parler off their webhosting service, meaning the platform will be offline until they find a new host.
The ban goes into effect on Sunday, effectively shutting down the platform that conservatives have flocked to since the big tech giants began banning conservatives.
In a post on Parler, Matze wrote that “Sunday (tomorrow) at midnight Amazon will be shutting off all of our servers in an attempt to completely remove free speech off the internet. There is the possibility Parler will be unavailable on the internet for up to a week as we rebuild from scratch. We prepared for events like this by never relying on amazons proprietary infrastructure and building bare metal products.”

They don't give a crap until the big telco providers threaten to pull their connectivity to the internet and drive them out of business for hosting some content they don't like.
Believe me: that's coming next.
Saw on Sharyl Atkinson’s web site they will be back on Tuesday
Wow, that’s a quick migration!!!
Yeah, and who’s going to be running the Justice Dept in 2 weeks? The Biden Justice Dept isn’t going to bust Big Tech for colluding to shut down the right. They’ll send ‘em thank-you notes.
It’s not to kill competition, it’s to kill non-followers of their Marxist religion
.
.
THIS!! Some on our side don’t even get the monster they’re dealing with.
“..., I go through a million Captcha thingies and still cannot access my Parler account.”
Captcha is google, I think. Do you use a VPN? No script? What browser?
All it means is that perceived “conservative” web sites will have to build their own server farms. If this happens then what is really means is “conservatism” is being kicked off of the “cloud”. This is a good thing in the long run. FR is not on the “cloud” BTW.
I never like “cloud” computing anyway. Back to “roll you own”. Good for IT jobs anyway...
That’s the smart thing to say, so they can file antitrust lawsuits in the future
.
True
“Competition is dead. Amazon/Google/Twitter/Facebook is a cartel and they will not allow the rise of any conservative platforms.”
Agree! Isn’t that Fascism? Big private industry conspiring with The State to supress and eliminate competition?
DING WINNER! Like Kevin O”leary says over and over again on Shark Tank “I only care about money”. Guys like him will SMELL THE MONEY and fill the new need.
But, but, but. Didn’t the economic conservatives used to insist it’s a private enterprise and therefore all is fair in a “free market”?
Start your own social network, right?
Start your own server hosting service?
...your own DNS if they delist your site?
... your own credit card company? (if the one you use goes woke and refuses to do business with you?)
Your own bank?
Your own airline if you get black Iisted due to the political events you attend?
There is no recourse, absolutely no recourse using the classical small govt pro private business, pro corporations conservative doctrine.
What happens when the corporations are taken over by communists, they go woke and using their considerable leverage they attack the host culture and values?
Culture wars like any wars don’t go by the playbook.
Only one thing is s evident. Woe to the conquered.
This truly is fascism. When giant private industry conspires with The State to supress freedoms and their competition.

Yup. It is a textbook definition of fascism. The U.S. is becoming a fascist state.
The self appointed ministry of truth doesn’t want any independent ideas spread.
The reasons are obvious.
Republicans better wake up and stop accepting the leftist fantasy world that we’re all being protected from “what evil Trump might do next”. That’s nonsense.
This is a takeover and a plot against the president and all of us.
There must be a concerted effort to take down these tech giants. By legal means of course but they must be brought down to size.
If people were hearing any sensible analysis its obvious the left is doing horrible things and cannot be trusted with power.
It’s time for the white hat hackers to go to work. If we can’t communicate, then neither can you. Initially launch ddos attacks on Twitter, Facebook, Google/YouTube, Amazon, and Apple. And that would just be until they could exploit any vulnerabilities directly.
“Extreme”? Maybe, but think about the gravity of what is occurring here. They’re not just inconveniencing people who want to share some cat pictures. They’re trying to silence half the country, simply because they hate us, and cut us off from communication with our duly elected representatives, among others. And at the rate this tyranny is spreading, does anyone doubt that the next assault might be your cell provider shutting down your service because you’re “an extremist”, or because they’ve listened in and don’t like what you’re saying? How about banks closing your accounts because they’ve looked at your payments and decided that you’re funding “hate.” None of that is improbable. In fact, I’d say it’s only a matter of days before it happens.
There is a difference between being kicked off the internet and being kicked of a private network cloud computing infrastructure. We are seeing the latter...
” They don't give a crap until the big telco providers threaten to pull their connectivity to the internet and drive them out of business for hosting some content they don't like”Most people here still totally don’t get it. The payment processors and banks are next too. They will force compliance or the dissident entity becomes a non-enitity. Unable to do business in the public square. Totally shut out. Ever heard of the refuseniks? This is what happens when you cede control of the public education to your enemies. They steal your kids souls and then use them to wage a brutal culture war upon you. The loser gets brutally subjected to the will of the winner. Vae victis.
How do you think they’re going to be able to take down the tech oligarchs, especially considering many of them are corrupted by big tech money (aka, bribes)?
I know. Boy, do I know! I was a fairly large start-up ISP in the midwest between 1994 - 1997. I know how this thing that AlGore invented called the Internet actually works. Hands on knowledge.
