Fond memories of that summer. Saw Grease at the local drive-in with a gal I will always remember. Bob Segar's Night Moves to a tee. Hot summer nights, indeed...

I hope they don’t see one of my favorite movies from the 70’s, “Slap Shot” starring Paul Newman. They'll pull that movie faster than you can say "Jack Robinson".

I went to the Original off Broadway production of Grease. It was absolutely fantastic. In fact my wife and I saw it three times with various friends of ours.

“The only thing rapey about Grease is the music. It rapes your ears.”
If you are not a child of the 50’s and loved Rock & Roll you of course wouldn’t like the music. The original cast album of Grease is one of the best Broadway cast Album I have heard and is faithful to it’s time in portraying that era.

Grease tells a story of 1950’s America, when America was about 90% white, over half of America attended church and immigration was limited to straight, heterosexual people. To judge the 50’s by the oh—so-morally-superior-perfectionists of the 2020s is asinine.

Rapey because a guy was looking up skirts (not that much could be seen with all that crinoline and, bearing in mind that girls actually wore panties back then).
But not as rapey as your average gangster rap video where girls are either sex objects, degraded in the lyrics, or dressed up like sex dolls with the maximum amount of skin displayed as they are pawed by males.

I keep expecting the cancelistas to come after The Honeymooners. Ralph Kramden’s “Bang, zoom!” act will probably trigger some snowflakes out there.
