In the recent movie "American Made" they used an old Citation II. It delivered good production value and it was inexpensive to procure.

Tom Cruise, who is a good pilot, flew it a lot during the shoot.

They also used an old Aerostar 601P a lot. They passed it off as an Aerostar 700 but you can see it's a 601P by looking at the engines.

The Aerostar 700 is a hot plane but also has a rep as a widomaker...it's tricky on landing. It was originally designed to be a small jet and was switched to being a 300mph prop twin...has the typical single cockpit door at the pilots seat that a small jet has.

A member of the production crew crashed the plane soon after they wrapped...deaths were involved :-(

They may have used both the movie, but the Citation in the picture that you posted, is a Citation V.

The 700 is an Aerostar, made by Piper. I don’t know about the widow-maker part. My experience has been it’s an honest airplane with a high wing loading. It flies pretty good on one engine (personal experience).
