I don’t doubt John would be glad if Trump lost. John lost and so did Romney. Both are bitter that Trump, a political newcomer, won.
I’m pretty sure a war hero who withstood beatings and confident for years to save America and preserve democracy in foreign lands became so bitter that he’d be celebrating the election of a demented, socialist leaning has-been politician who has to be led around like a puppy on a leash. His family continues to denigrate his sacrifice while they focus on his later-in-life bitterness.
