Greg Kelly has a great show on Newsmax at 4 pm PT. He’s unapologetically pro-Trump and walks the PC tightrope. On the show today he said Pete Buttigieg found a backdoor way into being an officer without going to the Academy. He also had Jim Jordan on to discuss the importance of Dr. President Trump going forward with challenging the election.
I disagree with that.
The Navy stockpiles people with special skills, education, and experience (law, medicine, science, etc.) in their Navy Reserve program. Almost all of them are "Direct Commission Officers."
Buttigieg was a Rhodes Scholar and spent two years at McKinsey & Company (the #1 business consulting firm in the world). He was 27 years old when he enlisted.
Most people that age with exceptional earning power are not going to voluntarily join the Navy and go through three months of Boot Camp and Officer School to get commissioned.
