And with places such as Michigan and Georgia with the US Senate hinged on one or two Senators to control all three branches of government, why would a “voter” just choose a presidential candidate? Doesn’t pass the smell test.

I hear you, when I went to vote on election day my ballot wasn’t accepted by the machine and was placed in a lockbox for manual tallying later....so I became suspicious.
Roughly speaking there were 1500 new registered voters in my town over 2016, President Trump got just 64 more votes total than he did in 2016. Biden on the other hand grab the other 1436 or so + 500 3rd party votes that shifted all his way, etc and in the end he had over 2,000 votes more than Trump with about 100 write-ins in the air.
