Another thing to consider is that they knew that OH wouldn’t be close at all, so why bother to cheat? Plus, there were clearly several other candidate states that would serve the same purpose.

The point is, I suspect if you did a historical analysis, of the States of: Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania, they would closely correlate with each other in every election. It’s highly unlikely you would see an outlier, like Ohio was.
