Regarding the FL recount—didn’t Bush’s lead start around 1200 or something, then fall to as low as 300, and then start rising again before the USSC stopped the recount?
So I think some counted votes must have been reversed—or did they just find new ones for Gore? I don’t remember.
Florida was called and algore called to concede. He was on his way to deliver a concession speech when he was told by one of his advisers not to, that the race was closer. He called Bush back and took back his concession. At no time did Gore lead. Recount after recount showed Bush winning and Gore demanded more recounts. I remember this well. I discovered FR in the 2000 protests of the attempt by Gore to steal Florida.
