The US Senate voted 51-38 on Sunday to proceed to confirm Amy Coney Barrett on the US Supreme Court.
Republican Senators Lisa Murkowski (R-AL) and Susan Collins (R-MN) voted with Democrats on Sunday.
The US Senate will vote to confirm Amy Coney Barrett to the US Supreme Court on Monday evening.

I think she said she would vote to confirm, NOT to have the senate confirmation vote.
I’m no Murky fan, but I don’t think she lied... yet.

Republican Senators Lisa Murkowski (R-AL) Article has the state abbreviation incorrect. Alaska is AK, not AL. AL is Alabama.

Murkowski is a bald-face liar... She said she would vote FOR this nomination... alas, she lied (nothing new)...this vote was just a procedural vote - to cut off discussion of the nominee after thirty hours - the real vote to confirm will come tomorrow night after the thirty hours is up - when presumably Murkowski will vote yes to actually put Barrett on the bench - but Murkowski's still a jerk......

I wonder how many riots there will be when ACB is confirmed?
She will need protection 24/7 from now on.

Vote, vote, vote - the nomination should go from the committee approval straight to the senate floor for confirmation. Whenever the Senate wrote their rules they must have all had a hangover and tried to make something simple very difficult.

I don’t agree.
Roberts won’t want to be on the losing side (the dissent) all the time.
He will vote more and more with the conservatives.
He’s a worm.

This was only a vote to end debate and proceed to the final vote on confirmation which is the only vote that counts.

Not supporting such a good woman for SCOTUS really damns those two as women and as Republicans.
Those two are traitors to their sex and to their party.

Argh! Note to self: Read posts BEFORE putting up one of my own. My fellow Freepers (LOTS of them) are way ahead of me on the flub-up on Murkowski’s state. :-)

Murkowski needs to be replaced with Sarah Palin.

Symbolic posturing bullshit.
These two need to be ended. Alaska, put Palin on the primary!
Maine, geez, there’s got to be someone who would represent the state better than Stephen Kings lost twin...

If you count Roberts, as a liberal, which I do, there will finally be a Conservative majority on the Court.

Murkowski already announced that she would vote no on the motion to proceed, but yes on the confirmation. Collins has already announced that she will vote on confirmation. Collins will probably lose in November, regardless, but it will still be better to have her than a Democrat. Do you really want Schumer to be Senate majority leader? Collins gave Kavanaugh the margin of victory, and that took some courage. If that’s all she ever did, it was worthwhile.
