Trump claimed 29 percent of the Hispanic vote on Tuesday compared to Romney’s 27 percent in 2012. With blacks, exit polls show Trump claimed 8 percent of the vote to the previous Republican nominee’s 6 percent.
I had seen a site that showed 11%, one done well after the election, but I cannot find it now.
But either way, 8% or 11% in 2016, Trump is undoubtedly going to do far better this time around, and that is cause for great celebration on two counts: first, it bodes well for this particular election; second, it at least offers a great deal of hope that the Democrat lock on the votes of the black community is finally beginning to disappear - their virtual plantation is beginning to be dismantled by the black community itself finally opening their eyes to the utterly empty rhetoric of the Dems since at least the Great Depression regarding their community.
If Trump even gets 15% of their vote, that is of massive significance; if it is higher, we will have witnessed a fundamental realignment in American politics, and Trump will have taken advantage of the clear failure of the Dems to do anything of significance for the black community, which the Republicans can take advantage of for years and decades to come - if THEY continue delivering, like Trump has; if not, things will return to how they have been for all of our lifetimes...and then, someday, the Dems will control the WH and both Houses, and fundamentally remake our system such that there will never be another Republican President or control of either House. So the Republicans had damned well better continue to do the right thing in treating the black community like any other, or our country is soon going to be over - a one-party country like Cuba, Venezuela or the old USSR, with similar results.
