Given the vast pile of crap out there, including articles and threads right here on FreeRepublic. Most folks are ignorant in how polls work or fail to work and they are easily deceived.
When you have listened to Barnes, find Richard Baris (People's Pundit) on You Tube and you can become an expert too. You won't regret it.
