I remember back in the day we used to joke about New Yorkers who wintered in Florida and owned property in both places voted in both places...

It isn’t a joke. I worked for a Congressman back in the 80’s who represented Hollywood Florida. His parents lived in one of those enormous retirement communities and we had an event there. A discussion ensued about voting for Larry in the upcoming election AND getting their absentee ballots from NY. When I asked if this was legal, I was told they pay taxes in both places so should be allowed to vote in both places.

In a sense, I tend to agree with them BUT for LOCAL elections only.

Also figure one way to get this ‘mess’ straightened out is to not allow ANY donations to POLs that aren’t going to DIRECTLY represent you.

No need for Texas money to influence the Dog Catcher from SchiffFace County Oregon.

I don’t ‘enjoy’ giving these POLs any slack but they really should not have to spend half the time in their first term raising money for the next one ESPECIALLY since it is only a 2 year term.
By the time they learn where the lunch room and rest room is it is time to run again, then again, the ORIGINAL plan wasn’t to make a life of it, you do 2 years, I do 2 years, he does 2 years etc etc then get back to your REAL productive life.
