First time I heard the word “Boogaloo” was around 1968, from black airmen in the USAF who said they were going into town and “Boogaloo all night!”

THE FANTASTIC JOHNNY C
BOOGALOO DOWN BROADWAY
1968
No. 5 on the Billboard R&B chart
and No. 7 on the Hot 100 on December 23, 1967

Baby, oh baby,
Boogaloo down Broadway,
Baby, oh baby
Boogaloo down Broadway.
Come on Sally, come on Sue,
All day long we’re gonna Boogaloo.
But when the sweat begins to fill the air,
We’re gonna funky Broadway everywhere.

Agreed. I always thought that was a Black person’s term for partying.

A SHTF scenario is hardly a party, unless you like the idea of riots, violence, starvation, people stealing your food or being hung for having a gun. In which case it then fits the Germans when they knew the end was near. Just party up, it’s your last fling before the gallows or firing squad.

First time I heard it was making reference to/about a Black person.

Wrong reference.

"Civil War II - Boogaloo" is a reference to the title of the terrible 1984 movie "Breakin' II: Electric Boogaloo".

The use of the phrase in regard to internal conflict originates with this movie title:

The reference being to Civil War 2.
