How do you respond in a time limited debate? 'The CDC stated that only 6% of those 220,000 died solely due to COVID, and we know some of the '220,000' that are reported to have died due to COVID actually died due to motorcycle accidents - and post-mortem were tested for COVID and found to have it'. So the real number is somewhere between 13k and 220k. No one knows. We know that no previous flu fatality rate has been counted in the same manner as COVID, so we know the COVID death rate is greatly inflated. Probably closer to 50k (than 13k or 220k) - but no one knows.
Just wash your hands, and if you are sick, or very susceptible - stay home, or mask and glove yourself.
That type of response would not have worked in a debate setting - neither one that was articulated in a much better manner. Pence did the right thing - ignore the baited hook, and talk about all 'the great' things the Administration did in combating this 'plague'.
