This is exactly right. The smart money says that the numbers are obscenely over-inflated.
It started with the early testing and testing on the fly. The tests are only reliable when performed by properly trained personnel and analyzed in labs with the correct protocols and equipment.
Then we found out that the hospitals were getting extra gratuities for every CV death. Shotgun round to the chest? Obviously a coronavirus fatality.
And, the cherry on the parfait—politics. Power crazed blue state tyrants *ordered* coroners and hospital staff to start finding more CV deaths. Patient brought to the ER after a terrible motorcycle crash? COVID test him, STAT!
Dems are stuck on 200K because it sounds so dreadful. Maybe we can begin to tally the Deaths of Despair.
