I understand your point, but haven’t read and understand enough of the scheduling and procedural details to understand why it is October 29th, a full month away. Why couldn’t it be a week earlier? What are the time-irreducible things that have to be done before allowing debate and scheduling cloture?

Good questions, and I don’t know why it couldn’t happen a week earlier?

Really, since she was just investigated and confirmed as a federal judge only three years ago, she really doesn’t need a long week of hearings for Democrats to “evaluate” her qualifications.

Honestly, they could vote tomorrow, as every single Democrat will vote no, possibly except for Joe Manchin of W. Va. Hearings being held won’t change any minds.
