I enjoy Biden gaffes as much as the next guy, but to say Michigan (or the other states mentioned) are “Red” is a heck of a stretch.
Yes, they voted for Trump last time around - but in Michigan’s case, a Republican had not won in Michigan since Reagan.
Everyone I know considers Michigan a “blue” state (as in, unionized, horribly mismanaged, tons of debt from union goody handouts, Dem governor, etc). The fact that Trump won the state last time does not make it a “Red” state by any stretch of the imagination.
Hammer on Biden fairly for any number of side splitting gaffes (my personal favorite is still “lying, dog faced pony soldier”), but this isn’t one.
The issue here is not whether those states are really “blue” or “red“.
The issue is that Biden’s confused rant about “blue states” and “red states“ completely missed the point of Trump’s criticism of the Democrat Governors and city Mayors of PA, WI, MI and other Democrat run cities and states.
Biden appeared to be suggesting that because President Trump was critical of the Democrat governors and mayors of certain states and cities, he must not care about the people of those states.
What a moron.
