Woah! Miami Dade has long been Leftist Democrat leaning thanks to all the retired New Yawkahs and Joisssssssseyites who have moved there. Cubans in particular have leaned Republican for a long time because they’ve actually experienced socialism. The Cubans help to tamp down the extra Democrat votes coming out of Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. The other 64 counties in Florida then overwhelm Miami and keep Florida as a red state.
Said for interviews conducted in Spanish. It would seem to eliminate the “New Yakahs” and “Joissssssseyites”. Spanish would seem to indicate Cubans. So again, no shock.
With the exception of Orange (Orlando), Pinellas (Tampa Metro), Hillsborough (Tampa), Leon (Tallahassee), and sometimes Alachua (Gainesville). All urban or liberal university cities.
