Start with Maine-2. Democrat Jared golden is a young not-too-pretty boy who served in combat(Afghanistan). Checks all the boxes. He won by 1.3% while Trump took the district by 10%. Will coattails work? Don't think so. This was the Olympia Snowe/Bill Cohen seat for a long time. Could be lost for good but we got a nobody named Dale Crafts running. We gave it away last time and can't count on Trump to UNsolidify Golden's hold.
Affected voters from Maine are encouraged to reply.
btw-tomorrow it will be Michigan-8. same time. More important than Babylon Bee.
Didn’t Maine get an injection of Somalis a while back?
Don’t know. My homework is not perfect but that would be smart.
DIRTYSECRET, if you are a Mainer, I would appreciate your take on Jared Golden.
I personally got a bit angry with his presentation of himself during the campaign in 2018, but have been too busy to follow him closely.
I was up in Maine in the lead up to the 2018 election, and was watching television in a bar, and saw commercials for him. They had the sound turned down, so I was looking at the visuals in the campaign ad, showing him in uniform when he was in the USMC, showing him at the gun range shooting, etc. I thought he looked like a good candidate. Then, when I found out he was a Dem (because I don’t recall seeing that affiliation in his ad) and there was something fishy about his election, IIRC, he was elected due to the Ranked Voting that Maine uses (which I believe is a Leftist electoral abomination invented by the Left to tilt the electoral playing field in their direction) and saw him characterized as a gun grabber...
Boy, did it piss me off. Completely misrepresenting himself, IMO.
Then, I hear he supports Trump in this or that...it seems he is playing the squish game of saying whatever he needs to say to get elected.
Just curious, what is your take on this candidate?
Sorry pal. I know nothing about him. Ex military seems to help in that district but people seem to get elected by pretending they are something they’re not. Snowe and Cohen I didn’t like but they were necessary. He won with ‘2nd’ choice’ voting so folks preferred him over the unpretty Republican if ‘their’(3rd party) candidate didn’t win. Those things count.
I’m not from Maine. Tune in tomorrow at 10am EST. The seat will be Mich 8.
Ah, sorry. I misunderstood...I reread, you are speaking from a national perspective and he was next up to bat.
Got it. Thanks for the reply...
