“when pollsters call, I purposely lie to them”
There is a lot of that going on for sure. Do you get caller ID that indicates pollsters, or do you just answer the phone and there is one on the other end? If the latter, what does the caller ID say? I do not answer the phone unless I know who it is and I want to talk to them. But I might be tempted to if I know I could help screw up the pollsters numbers.
Good question. The calls are usually to my place of business, so we tend to answer all calls, even though we do get a lot of spam. Sometimes it will say the organizations name, sometimes a persons name, sometimes just private caller. Few are actually real people. Many are robocalls. I have even started get text poll requests to my cell phone. Oddly, those have been for out-of-state issues, that I cant even vote on. I answer them anyway. Perhaps my willingness to answer has put me on a list of potential suckers who will answer calls. So be it.
Given all this, and the corruption of the media and political hacks who will ultimately use (and spin) these polls, I feel no responsibility whatsoever to give them the truth. I am sorry if some of these may be conservatives looking for the truth, but from the slant of their questioning, I can tell nearly all are liberal pollsters.
I have an app on my android phone that sends all callers not in my contacts to voice mail.
