I thought the choice of the aria “Nessun Dorma” by Giacomo Puccini (1926) was appropriate. It concludes with “All’alba vincerò! Vincerò! Vincerò!” (at dawn I will win! Win! Win!)
This was genius. The songs were designed to get everyone back to their roots. They reminded those of us old enough to remember when those songs were acceptable to sing in school, and when we felt safe playing in the back yard. It reminded us of what it was like before the world went to crap.
