There was a town in New Jersey that bordered a Democrat crap hole. The town was called racist in the leftist press when they erected gates (gates so fire and emergency vehicles could still get through) at the end of certain streets to keep the carjackers and thieves out.
You're going to see more urban planning roadway designs with structures designed to limit the movement of the hordes. Forget moveable barriers and plywood. You're going to see "dragon's teeth" barriers like they deploy to stop military tanks.
Of course one willing prosecutor and a "no-mask for lawbreakers" law would stop all of this.
